For me, a very important point is that the narrative begins with the interrogation. And this, damn it, the very move that I find unusually stylish since the time of the game “Black”, the film “Domino” and a more classic “Running blade”. The main characters are already shaken by life in a hopelessly distant one from the main events of 2012. Why? Yes, because then, in the 95th, they found and took the killer. It’s only 17 years passed and the victim appears again, again the same symbols and twisted figures around. And this time, other investigators of the victorious tolerance puzzle over the case, first of all asking questions to those who have already been able to stop atrocities once. Marty Hart. Experienced detective with rich experience. Friendly, sociable, relatively diligent family man. I have seen a lot in life both before and after this matter. This character will not present surprises, but they should not wait for them from him. Woody Harrelson here is 100%in his rut, but it is important to understand that although the script pushes the detective Hart in the background, do not let yourself be deceived: this character is valuable with its simplicity. It symbolizes a typical layman who faces something truly terrible. In order to characterize this character, the word “psychopath” really begs. Although in fact everything is much deeper. Incredible events in their injustice in the past and the brutal consequences that came behind them forever changed this person, in fact, creating him again. If the rabbi was once as alive as Marty, then we will never know about it. As with the hero of Harrelson, one can easily be deceived on his account, trying to find an excuse for his actions, to adjust to them good goals, difficult life and so on, but we will be frank: the plant shown in the series – the monster. Trained, trained, motivated monster. Not a person. And this is important. The main and only justification for him can only be one thing – its manic thirst is directed against other monsters, and not people. It is from the latter that he strives to stay away, because every time he comes up too close – everything becomes worse. Rast is smart, so he perfectly understands the situation, and all his isolation is only an attempt to protect people from himself. This does not concern other monsters.

It will incorrectly put the hero of the McConachis on one line with the rest of the psychopaths of the series. He is something else. The creature is much more nightmare. For criminals, detective Cole – Hell and Devil in one person. One look – and he already knows more about them than they themselves know about themselves. He is trained to cope with any of them and is able to withstand even the most terrible creature with iron claws in her own lair, is able to get out of the aspen nest with whole and unscathed, sometimes he himself can scare more than any maniac.

Detective Cole, unlike his partner, will not once amaze even a prepared viewer and therefore there is nothing surprising in the fact that he is put to the fore – people like this so. The hero of the McConacha may not dust his life as a character of Woody, but the scriptwriters managed to endow him with another truly human line-during the narrative, it is very clearly visible that Cole is changing. And not in some specific side, but rather “floating”, from one state to another. In my opinion, this once again shows that even something human can remain in the monster.

… when there is no desire to be a set of members

Unfortunately, the series has one serious problem – and this is the main storyline. It just so happened that behind watching a television show called “Real Detective”, it is “Detective” and limping immediately on both legs.

You can sing praises for a long time well -developed and competently played by characters, who, by the way, are not limited to only two partners – the creators even managed to put on the interesting features and skillfully present them. Nothing will prevent you from truly enjoying the viscous atmosphere, and some remarks will unobtrusively push the paper and handle. Understand me correctly: it is great, it is truly cool, it is already a lot for the television series, but … this is not a detective. At least not the most good. How good all secondary lines that reveal the characters affecting serious psychological and moral topics are – the line of the main investigation is so mediocre. It is blurred, crumpled, served tedious and slurred.

Surprisingly, the main detective line of the series is simply lost against the background of everything else that it has. This is especially acutely felt after some time when emotions are subsided and the first impression remains behind. You involuntarily catch yourself thinking that you can only say a couple of common phrases about the main plot, while you can fill in everything else almost for hours.

What do we get in the end? Excellent, just an excellent show, which I certainly recommend to everyone and everyone. Especially with the “Real Detective” it is worth familiarizing themselves for those who managed to get tired of a little from the line of popular television series of recent years. The project is new and “fresh blood” came very by the way. But I would not advise it precisely to detective history, but honestly, this is not the main thing here. At all.
